| Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologists: Susan Kraegel, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) Dr. Kraegel joined the Internal Medicine team in January 2009 as an oncology specialist. She grew up in Wisconsin and attended the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 1985, she spent several years in New York City, where she did an internship at the Animal Medical Center. In 1988, she moved to California for a residency position in oncology at the University of California, Davis. Board certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 1991, Dr. Kraegel is a Diplomate in the specialty of oncology. Since completing her residency, she has done a fellowship in molecular oncology, taught and done research at the University of California, Davis, and practiced oncology in northern California. She is interested in all aspects of veterinary oncology, including the treatment of bone cancer, lymphoma, mast cell tumors, and histiocytic cancers. Dr. Kraegel’s goal is to help each family find the best solution for their pet with cancer, maintaining the best quality of life possible. |
