| Veterinary Oncologists: Joanne Intile, DVM, MS Diplomate American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology) DVM: Cornell University Internship: Long Island Veterinary Specialists Residency: Cornell University Dr. Intile received her veterinary degree from Cornell University in 2005. Following graduation she accepted a rotating internship in small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency and critical care at Long Island Veterinary Specialists before returning to Cornell to complete a residency in medical oncology. Dr. Intile is a board certified member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, and a member of the Veterinary Cancer Society, the AVMA, and Phi Zeta, the National Veterinary Honor Society. During residency, she was also awarded the Robert S. Brodey Memorial Award for outstanding clinical research project in oncology at the 27th Annual Conference of the Veterinary Cancer Society in 2007. Dr. Intile has professional interests in clinical chemotherapy trials including developing novel rescue protocols for canine lymphoma, the use of Vitamin D for anti-cancer therapy, and hospice care/pain relief for cancer patients. Outside of work Dr. Intile shares her home with 2 cats and a dog, and enjoys running (she ran the NYC marathon in 2008), tennis, writing, wine-tasting and traveling. Eric Boshoven, DVM, DACVR (Radiation Oncology) Eric Boshoven, DVM, DACVR (Radiation Oncology) did his undergraduate work at the University of Arizona before an early acceptance at Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. After graduating in 1996, he worked in private practice in Tucson, Arizona for a year. A residency in Radiation Oncology ensued, under the supervision of Mary K. Klien at Southwest Veterinary Oncology in Tucson. Dr. Boshoven joined VCA Veterinary Referral Associates in December of 2002. |
