| Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologists: Holly Burr, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) Dr. Burr received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2005, where she graduated in the top of her class. After graduation, Dr. Burr completed a rigorous small animal medicine and surgery internship at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida (VSSF). The next role she took was a leadership position at VSSF where, as the Weekend Hospitalist, she would oversee the clinic and the new class of interns there. While leading the interns at VSSF, Dr. Burr completed another internship of her own, this time in medical oncology at the Animal Cancer Care Clinic in Southern Florida. Dr. Burr’s interest in oncology later led her to the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University; she completed a three year medical oncology residency at Tufts. The combination of Dr. Burr’s training, experience and compassion help her not only to maintain a delicate awareness of the quality of life issues facing each patient in her oncology practice, it also helps insure she remains sensitive to the impact each case may have on the family of any patient in her care. |
