| Board-Certified Veterinary Oncologists: Virginia Gill, DVM, DACVIM (Oncology) Dr. Virginia Gill earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University, where she graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society. Following her graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Gill completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. Upon completion of her internship, Dr. Gill was awarded with the AMC’s Intern of the Year award. After her internship, Dr. Gill remained at the Animal Medical Center to pursue a three-year residency in oncology, which she finished in 2008. She has been board certified in Oncology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine since 2008. During her residency Dr. Gill participated in several research projects, and she has authored several articles, as well as a book chapter on feline plasma cell tumors. Dr. Gill is a member of the Veterinary Cancer Society and the Veterinary Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group. She has an interest in remaining involved in collaborative research and clinical trials.
